Do you ship to my country?
We currently have distributors in the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. We recommend using local companies to purchase. We ship from our warehouse in the United States to the United States, Canada and most European countries. There have been significant delays in overseas shipments throughout COVID.
What is your return policy?
We want you to be happy with your purchase. We will gladly refund your purchase within 30 days if you are unhappy for any reason. Inquiries should be sent to: questions@functionalhand.com.
Why am I having trouble checking out?
If you are shopping from a browser on a school or clinic network, your transaction may be blocked due to the use of a proxy server. We automatically block transactions from proxy servers as a fraud prevention measure. You should be able to complete your transaction successfully by accessing our site outside of the proxy server (e.g., on your phone or at home). Please reach out to questions@functionalhand.com if you require further assistance.
Can I order a tool in a color other than blue?
Our manufacturing process limits the colors we can provide. We can run an alternative color for orders of 10 or more. When this occurs, we may have leftover inventory in an alternative color. Please send inquiries to: questions@functionalhand.com.
Does the functionalhand® come in different sizes?
Yes! We have two sizes, the original and the mini. The mini is for early scribblers through preschool and whose hand span across the palm is < 7 cm (less than 2¾ inches). The original is for hands that are ≥ 7 cm (greater than 2¾ inches). Measurements should be taken across the palm from the base of the thumb to the pinky side of the hand.
How do I clean the functionalhand®?
We recommend cleaning the functionalhand® with soap and water. It is dishwasher safe to wash and dry at high temperatures in your dishwasher utensil basket. It can result in the color of your tool being less vibrant.
What material is the functionalhand® made of?
The cord that secures the tool in the base is shockcord. It is a marine grade bungee cord with industrial level strength, stretch and longevity. It allows for long lasting resistance when exposed to heat and water. The inner strands hold a consistent 100% stretch, so the elasticity is meant to last. The base of the tool is made of a polylactic acid filament using premium Natureworks bi-polymer derived from corn – not petroleum products. It is a semicrystalline resin that has high mechanical properties suited for many general purposes. All materials are safe for children and adults.
